Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

Effective date: June 1, 2026

Last updated: June 18, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules for using the Nahnu Asset Scanner plugin (“Plugin”), the website at frontendassetscanner.com (“Site”), and any related services (collectively, the “Service”) provided by Nahnu Fitness LLC, operating under the brand name Nahnu Plugins (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By using the Service, you agree to this AUP. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

This AUP should be read alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1. Intended Use

Nahnu Asset Scanner is a WordPress plugin designed to scan the front end of WordPress websites and produce an inventory of assets loaded during a page visit. Its intended purpose is to help site owners, developers, and agencies:

  • Identify JavaScript and CSS files loaded on their pages for cache optimization
  • Build accurate cookie inventories for consent platform configuration
  • Understand what third-party domains their site contacts for privacy compliance and security review

The Service is intended to be used only on websites you own or have explicit written authorization to scan and test.

2. Authorized Use

You are authorized to use the Service to:

  • Scan websites you own outright
  • Scan websites owned by your clients, where you have been engaged to perform technical or compliance work and have their explicit authorization
  • Scan staging, development, or test environments you control
  • Review, export, and share scan results with colleagues or clients in connection with legitimate professional services
  • Modify and redistribute the plugin source code in accordance with the GNU General Public License v2.0 or later

3. Prohibited Use

You must not use the Service to:

  • Scan any website you do not own and do not have explicit authorization to scan, regardless of whether the site is publicly accessible
  • Attempt to overload, disrupt, or degrade the performance of any website through repeated or automated scanning
  • Use scan results to identify and exploit security vulnerabilities in websites belonging to others
  • Collect, harvest, or aggregate personal data about third parties without a lawful basis under applicable privacy law
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security features, access controls, or rate limits of any website or service
  • Use the Service in connection with any unlawful activity, including unauthorized computer access, data theft, or violation of any privacy or data protection law
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercialize the Service itself in a manner that misrepresents its origin, without clearly disclosing the original source in accordance with the GPL
  • Use the Service to scan websites in jurisdictions where doing so would violate local law
  • Automate scans in a way that generates excessive traffic to any website without the owner’s knowledge and consent
  • Use the Service to build competing products or services that directly replicate the Service without compliance with the GPL
  • Represent scan results as a legal compliance certification or regulatory audit, or pass them off as such to clients or regulators

4. Responsible Scanning

Because the Plugin makes HTTP requests to web pages during a scan, you are responsible for ensuring that:

  • You have authorization from the website owner before scanning any site that is not your own
  • Your scanning activity does not violate the terms of service of any hosting provider, CDN, or other infrastructure provider used by the website being scanned
  • You do not initiate scans on websites during high-traffic periods in a way that could degrade their performance
  • You comply with applicable computer access and unauthorized access laws in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) in the United States and equivalent legislation elsewhere

5. Use of Third-Party Data

The Plugin optionally fetches third-party data files including the Open Cookie Database and the Ghostery TrackerDB. If you use this feature, you agree to comply with the respective licenses of those databases:

  • Open Cookie Database: MIT License
  • Ghostery TrackerDB: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0)

The CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 license on TrackerDB means you may not use that data for commercial purposes without permission from the rights holder. If you use scan results enriched with TrackerDB data in a commercial context, you are responsible for ensuring your use complies with that license.

6. Consequences of Violation

If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated this AUP, we may:

  • Suspend or terminate your access to the Service without notice
  • Report your activity to law enforcement or affected parties if we believe it involves unlawful conduct
  • Take any other action we deem appropriate to protect the integrity of the Service and the interests of affected third parties

We are not obligated to monitor how you use the Service, but we reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation.

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any use of the Service that violates this AUP, please report it to us through the contact information on our support page at frontendassetscanner.com/support/. We take reports seriously and will investigate where appropriate.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP at any time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised AUP.
